All the cells in our bodies have receptors on their cell membrane which are able to read different frequencies of energy contained in the electromagnetic spectrum. This spectrum includes ultraviolet, infrared, and visible light. Soft (low-level) lasers produce visible and infrared light. The different frequencies of light actually communicate information to the cells, information that is understood by the receptors on the membrane of the cell and on the membrane of the cell’s mitochondrion (the enzymatic engine of the cell). This energetic information eventually reaches the cell’s DNA, which directly controls cell function.

Light is energy and energy is information, so when the cells are able to receive better information, they work better. Biophotons are very similar to laser light because they are emitted by our cells as coherent, monochromatic, directional, and highly organized light energy (see How Lasers Work). Many scientists now believe that biophotons are emitted from the DNA of cells and are used by our body to direct, organize, and unite all biological processes.

According to a leading researcher of biophotons, German biophysicist Fritz-Albert Popp, light is constantly being absorbed and remitted by DNA molecules within each cell’s nucleus. These biophotons create a dynamic, coherent web of light. Biophotonics: Basic theory of cancer development and defense

At the 11th International Conference “Biological Cancer Defense” in Heidelberg, Germany (May 3-5, 2002), Prof. F. A. Popp presented his basic theory of cancer development and defense. This theory was recently successfully discussed at the Heidelberg Cancer Research Institute (DKFZ) as well. In view of the positive response on the part of the scientists and the highly controversial nature of these ideas at rather clear evidence, we consider it worthwhile to publish a concise review of the substance of Popp’s theory:

Prof. Popp started by pointing out that over the last years, cancer death rates have not dropped but rather significantly increased (Fig. 1, [1]), indicating that mainstream science has been pursuing a fundamentally erroneous direction in its attempts at combating this scourge of humanity. Popp compared this flawed approach with attempts at scientifically answering the question: ”How high is the temperature of a gas?” by proceeding to catch the gaseous molecules and to investigate them under the microscope. While the technique may thus improve step by step to the use of electron microscopy and even higher resolution microscopy, it will forever fail to produce any essential result concerning the gas’ temperature, and not even yield a result cluing the investigator in to the fundamentally erroneous direction of his experiments. Similarly, tumor growth is doubtless nothing but a collective phenomenon of the cell population as a whole. Consequently, the central questions should focus on the control of cell division rate rather than on the molecular properties of individual cells. A basic example which simultaneously provides the starting point of Popp’s theory is cell division, i.e. the mitotic figures (Fig. 2a). As is well known, the molecular content is divided here into two equal parts, where the daughter cells will always contain just half of the entire number of biomolecules without deviations, while the statistical laws require a surplus or undershoot of , where N is the number of molecules. This would always be about 105 molecules more or less in one of the daughter cells.

The fact that practically no aberration takes place can be explained only in terms of a regulating electromagnetic field that stabilizes itself by the interaction with the cell(s). The electric and magnetic biforces take care of the correct movement (and reactions) of all the molecules. Actually, such a field is known and can be calculated. It is the electromagnetic field within conducting and/or dielectric cavities which spreads out over the interior of a cell according to the Maxwell equations.

The field pattern (local field strengths) follows the classical laws of the Maxwell equations, whereas the dynamics is subjected to quantum optics. Fig. 2b shows such a spatial field pattern which has been calculated by taking account of the boundary conditions of a cell. (2). Those electromagnetic quasi-stationary electromagnetic field patterns spread over the wavelength range from at least c. 200 to 800 nm (2). Table 1 shows the series of cavity resonator modes in the optical frequency range. Their superpositions completely explain the mitotic figures both for stationary patterns and in the course of time for the temporal sequence of superpositions. The electrical charges and magnetic momentums of the molecules strictly follow the electric and magnetic field pattern of the corresponding cavity resonator waves, respectively. As a consequence, the perfect spatio-temporal distribution of molecules can be understood, and it is not wrong to say that it can be understood only in this way. At the same time one has to expect that an ideal photomultiplier should then register photons outside of the cell population just within this wavelength range of, say, 200 to 800 nm (3). In addition, since these field patterns represent coherent states, the probability of measuring n photons has to follow a Poissonian photocount statistics p(n) = exp (-<n>) <n>n/n!. Both is true (3,4). The evidence of these “biophotons” (which are emitted as single photons by living biological cells and systems satisfy just these conditions) has been shown by Popp’s group since 1976, and it has been reproduced by several other scientists working in the field of biophotonics. We will not repeat the confirmation of all these results, but would like to refer the interested reader to our bibliography ( htm or

Popp confined his Heidelberg address to the aspects concerning cancer development. Since a coherent field is self-reflective, it follows laws like

where n are subunits of the system (i.e. photons or cells), ¶ /¶ t (n) describes the time development of n, and a and b are parameters. b must not vanish in order to keep the coherence of the system.

A typical example is the correlation between biophoton emission and cell growth (Fig. 3), where b<0 provides the saturation of cell mass and inhibits overshoot of cell growth, while a>0 is necessary for cell growth stimulation. While a may refer to chaotic components, b is a collective parameter, dependant on integrative properties of the whole cellular system. b as the inhibitor of cell growth is strongly linked to the degree of coherence of the field. Consequently, a definite loss of coherence is a necessary and sufficient condition of cancer development (5,6). The cancer problem is reduced to the investigation of b and b/a.

Actually, Schamhart et. al. and Scholz et. al. have shown that the loss of the validity of equ. 1 and the loss of coherence, which can be expressed in terms of b and a, is strongly correlated to cancer growth (Fig. 4 and Fig. 5, (7,8)). This correlation has the power of a causal relation, since it does lead not only to quantitative, but also to qualitative differences between “normal” cells and “tumor cells” without any exception.

Once we arrived at this stage, we already had a powerful strategy and tool for overcoming the malignancy of cancer development. Where tumor tissue is available (surface tumors or tissue after operation), one may expose the tumor tissue to non-toxic agents and examine whether the biophoton emission will increase or decrease under this treatment. In case of increase (which happens in most cases), the remedy or therapeutic trial under examination is useless.

However, if the application of the remedy (agent) leads to a decrease in biophoton emission, one may assume that its application will result in an improvement of the state and possibly even in healing of the disease. Our experience has shown that in such cases the normal cells which are always present in a real tumor are likely activated into removing or suppressing the tumor cells. This therapy follows just the opposite strategy than the usual tumor therapy. Instead of killing tumor cells (and the connected normal tissue), it stimulates the normal tissue into overcoming malignancy of the entire cell population, in other words into providing b<0 of equ. 1. This may be a physical influence, simply improving the transparency of the tissue under examination. Obviously, the suitable remedy, which has to be individually adapted to each case, improves the degree of coherence within the tissue under investigation. The same may happen in the well-known cases of cancer going into “spontaneous remission”.

The disadvantage of this therapy consists in the possibility of an operation being necessary to find the suitable remedy. However, Zhang and Popp (9) have shown that to some degree, the loss of coherence can be measured not only by investigating the biophoton emission of either tissue or body (10), but also by statistically analyzing physiological parameters, i.e. resistance (or conductivity) values of the body. Coherence of the regulating fields is strongly related to the log-normal distribution of physiological parameters, a fact that is well known in statistical medicine under the name of “multiplicative “Gestaltungs” principle. As soon as coherence is lost, the log-normal distribution of the skin’s conductivity values turns more and more into a Gaussian distribution. An example is shown in Fig. 6. A German company developed an electrode that enables us to measure hundreds of conductivity values of the human skin in a rather short time. After suitable adjustment of the measurement values the statistical distribution is available and provides a rather reliable indicator of the degree of coherence of the field within the human body. In this non-invasive manner, one may follow rather comfortably both the state of disease and its development under treatment.

In light of new confirmation (11-13), it seems useful to further pursue this theoretical concept and the idea of measuring the degree of coherence of the biophoton field in living systems in order to open the door to the understanding and eventual overcoming of cancer.

Energy Fields in Motion: Bioresonant Synchronicity

All matter in the universe is composed of atoms and their corresponding protons and electrons. Atoms are electrically and magnetically charged particles of matter in constant motion. This particle motion is in wave patterns or frequencies. All matter has identifiable and unique inherent frequencies.

The electric and magnetic fields of atoms have different frequencies because photons in atoms are emitted/absorbed by electrons, which are in complex motion. An electron emits a photon stream while orbiting and spinning, in a corkscrew or helix stream of photons. Photons (light quanta) are a mass transfer mechanism. The flowing particles or flux quanta (photon) exchange mass due to their motion resulting in an electric and a magnetic field.

The weak wavelength photons represented by the radio wave frequency range of the electromagnetic spectrum have the ability to effect biomatter. Radio frequency energy and light act on the outer electrons in matter. Applied energy fields causing electron excitation on individual atoms into a higher energy state produce radio waves. When electrons move back down to a lower energy level, they release photons.

The hydrogen atom, the most abundant atom in the universe, is in itself a source of radio emission. In the hydrogen atom, the hyperfine splitting of its ground state: there is a small difference in energy (5.9 x 10-6 eV) for a neutral hydrogen atom in its ground state depending whether the proton and electron spins are aligned. When the atom changes from one state to another a radio photon with a l = 0.21m is produced.

Hydrogen atoms are also very abundant in the human body especially in the fat and water of human tissue. Approximately 63% of all atoms in the human body are hydrogen atoms due to the human body’s high water content.

The action of the MRI on the hydrogen atoms in human tissue provide us with a visual example of how radio waves, close to the frequency of ordinary FM radio stations, can effect biomatter. Radio waves used in MRI imaging cause the hydrogen atom nucleus to flip in its spin and change alignment. The nuclei then relax and re-emit the radio waves at different frequencies depending on the chemical environment of the molecule. When the radio waves are turned off, the nuclei return to the state of low energy, returning to their natural position and give off photons. The photons produce energy signals that are analyzed by a receiver in the MRI machine.

Sound waves of radio frequencies are also waves of mechanical energy creating pressure that oscillates particles of matter within its path. Vibrations emitted from sound energy have the ability to synchronize oscillating matter with like frequencies or corresponding harmonics.

One example of the synchronization of oscillating matter in biological tissue is the effect on the human eardrum (tympanic membrane) of sound wave pressure moving through the atmosphere, causing the three bones of the middle ear to resonate. The terminal bone of the three-bone array, the stapes or stirrup, oscillates a flexible layer of tissue at the base of the cochlea. This pressure sends waves rippling along the basilar membrane, stimulating some of its hair cells. These hair cells send out a rapid-fire code of electrical signals about the frequency, intensity and duration of a sound through auditory nerve fibers that run from the base of these hair cells to the center of the cochlea. From there, the electrical signals travel to the brain, where they are interpreted as sound.

Entrainment is the mutual phase locking, or synchronization, of two oscillating entities of matter. Harmonic entrainment is the process whereby oscillators of different frequencies develop a harmonic relationship between the two frequencies.

Resonant entrainment of oscillating systems is a principle of physics. If a tuning fork designed to produce a frequency of 400 Hz is struck (causing it to oscillate) and then brought into the vicinity of another 400 Hz tuning fork, the second tuning fork will begin to oscillate at the same frequency. The first tuning fork is said to have entrained the second or caused it to resonate.

The physics of entrainment of biological systems is illustrated in the electromagnetic activity of brain waves. The electrochemical activity of the brain results in the production of electromagnetic wave forms that can be objectively measured with sensitive equipment. Brain waves change frequencies based on neural activity within the brain. Because neural activity is electrochemical, brain function can be modified through the introduction of specific chemicals (drugs), by altering the brain’s electromagnetic environment through induction or through resonant entrainment techniques.

Cells are highly structured, electrically charged entities that can be modeled as solid-state electronic systems. Their frequency windows can be tuned to receive incoming signals, amplify instructions through biological polymers and respond as frequency transmitters. Cells will respond to any energy stimulus. They will obey the established laws of physics that govern the effects of matter and its relationship to energy fields from any source, such as electrical signals, magnetic fields, electromagnetic fields and heat, light and acoustic resonance. Given the cell’s integrated semiconductor nature, they conduct and process incoming vibrational stimuli converting energy from one form to another.

The intracellular structure with its cytoskeleton is attached to the nuclear envelope that interfaces with the nucleosome of chromatin with DNA wrapped around the histones in the nucleolus, within the nucleus of the cell. Thus, the cell’s nucleus and its contents are a matrix within a matrix. In the cell, the filaments and fibers of the cytoskeleton extend beyond the cell surface across the cell membrane, linking systems together with molecular structures such as glycoproteins, anchor proteins, integrins, cahadrins and proteoglycans. These molecular proteins form a network of continuous tensional communication structures linking matrix to matrix to matrix throughout the biological system.

The tissue matrix system consisting of the nuclear matrix, cytoskeleton and extracellular matrix function coherently to sense and respond to stimuli. The membrane proteins of the extracellular matrix serve as transfer stations that control attachment, enzymatic activity, intercellular joining, cell-cell recognition and signal transduction. The water molecules on the surface of these membrane proteins provide the electro conductive surface that propagates energy fields.

The most abundant protein in the extracellular matrix is collagen. Collagen fibers provide the structural adhesion from cell to cell within their biological systems. These collagen fibers are composed of chains wound around each other in an array of triple helical collagen fibrils forming a super helix. Collagen fibers and their bound water molecules act as a network of communication conductors among cells by means of piezoelectric interactions and phonon / photon transduction of electromagnetic signals throughout the body. These conductors connect matrix to matrix to all other matrices everywhere else in a dynamic communication network of energy transfer. These molecular arrays of collagen fibers, with their liquid crystalline semiconductor properties, generate the piezoelectric potentials that act as a self-regulating signal system to modify the response of the lattice structure of tissues to mechanical vibrations and stress. These crystalline lattice-like structures of the living matrix include the lipids of cell membranes, actin and myosin molecules of muscle fibers, components of the cytoskeleton as well as the collagen molecules of connective tissue.

These highly structured matrices form a coherent pathway allowing oscillations to move extremely rapidly throughout the matrix system. Physicist Herbert Frohlick (1968) was among the first to point out that a coherent state in living systems acts as a superconductor at physiological temperatures. He proposed that metabolic energy is not being lost as heat but stored in the form of coherent electromechanical vibrations called coherent excitations. These vibrations now known as Frohlick Oscillations occur at the microwave and visible light frequency range of the electromagnetic spectrum.

” Evidence of the existence of these coherent excitations in biological systems came from the study of biophotons (Popp et al, 1981; Popp, 1986). Nearly every living organism emits light at a steady rate from a few photons per cell per day to several photons per organism per second. Increasing evidence shows that biophotons are emitted from a coherent photon field within living systems, providing proof that organisms are emitters and receivers of coherent electromagnetic signals, which may be essential for their functioning.”

A wide range of electrical and magnetic field frequencies generated by the brain, the heart and the striated and smooth muscle systems continuously flow through the entire body. For example, the heart has a 3-5 Watt contractile power that transmits rhythmic electrical potentials that flow along the neurovascular system. These electrical potentials generate pulsed magnetic fields that can be detected from as far as 4 meters in distance from the body.

Conclusion: the body resonates with bioelectric currents, electromagnetic fields, frequencies, vibrations and energies in the endless interaction of communication within the living matrix. This state of dynamic interactions of resonant energy fields is characterized by heart rhythm coherence that displays a sine wave-like rhythmic pattern inducing entrainment and synchronization between physiological systems. The biological coherence and harmonious functioning of the cardiovascular and neurological system as well as all other systems that comprise the structure and function of the biological system respond to internal and external energy fields — in the homeodynamic endeavor of bioresonant synchronicity.

Dr. Kikuo Chishima, a Japanese professor whose credentials and work will be examined in more detail below, theorized that the energetic or frequency information in the food we eat is even more important than the nutrients. Food contains molecular compounds of amino acids, complex carbohydrate chains and various chemical elements, each having their own unique frequency or vibration. It is the vibrations of the nutrients that raise the vibrations of the body’s tissue. Pesticide and chemical laden fruits and vegetables, as well as animal protein contaminated with antibiotics and growth hormones, have chaotic vibratory oscillations that act to derail the high coherence of our nutritional energy needs. Thus, our food has to be in the utmost coherent energy state because that is what is taken into our cells in the form of biophoton energy. In addition, our mental state creates an energy field around us that affects the vibration of the food we are preparing or putting into our mouths.

This article also describes the exciting research of German biophysicist Fritz Albert Popp, Ph.D., a Nobel Prize winner in physics, who investigated the relationship between coherence and the biophoton energy in our cells. Popp used highly sensitive light-measuring equipment to monitor the light emitted by living cells. He was able to confirm that living cells emit small bursts of light. He determined that cells do not just radiate light, they also absorb light. In fact, the storage time is relative to the quality of the cell. Therefore, a healthy cell will store light the longest, while an unhealthy cell will give off the light in a shorter time. He also discovered that the dying process of a cell is identical to that of a star. Shortly before its death, it will change into a supernova, whereby its radiation increases a thousand-fold, He further discovered that a healthy cell radiates coherent light, while a diseased cell radiates chaotic light.

According to Prof. Popp, every cell in our body receives coherent light, stores coherent light, and emits coherent light. The most basic sub-molecular component of our body is made up of particles of light called biophotons. These biophotons, traveling at the speed of light, make up the electromagnetic frequency patterns that are found in every living organism. This matrix or field of frequency oscillations or resonance specificity provides the energetic switch-boarding behind every cellular function, including DNA/RNA messenger. Cell membranes scan and convert signals into electromagnetic events as proteins within the cell’s bi-layer that change shape to vibrations of specific resonant frequencies. Every biochemical reaction is proceeded by an electromagnetic signal. Cells communicate both electromagnetically and chemically and create biochemical pathways that interconnect with all functions of the body.

Dr. Kikuo Chishima, Professor of the Nagoya Commercial University, Japan, and author of a nine volume collection of his research and scientific studies called “Revolution of Biology and Medicine: A New Theory on the Life Science and Its Practical Application to Health & Disease,” is best known for his studies demonstrating that the origin of red blood corpuscles is not the bone marrow but the intestinal villus, and that red blood corpuscles differentiate into all kinds of somatic cells and germ cells in accordance with their cellular resonant environmental conditions.

Dr. Kikuo Chishima theorized that the intestinal villi act like small antennae that absorb both nutrients as well as energetic or frequency information from the food we eat. These red blood cells or erythrocytes respond to specific biophoton oscillations and aggregate, fuse, synthesize DNA and differentiate into lymphocyte or mesenchymal cells.3

Dr. Chishima’s work offers some insight into current day quantum physics theories that remind us that at the sub-atomic level matter does not exist. There is only energy; bits of photons with lots of empty space around them. DNA has been thought to be the center of the definition of life. At closer inspection we find that DNA is made up of molecules, which are made up of sub-atomic particles and we end up back at the level of biophotons again. It is interesting to note that, although DNA goes under the name of an acid, it is actually a salt (sodium).4 Sodium, as we know, is one of the body’s important electrolytes and a conductor of electromagnetism. It is a linear, one-dimensional crystal.3

The cell’s inner most center is made up of ribonucleic acid and proteins (all molecules). The antenna or filament strand like configuration of DNA allows the molecules to receive and transmit electromagnetic frequency information along its nucleotide bases, creating resonance reactions within targeted genetic or nucleotide triplets that create the template for the formation of messenger RNA (mRNA). Once mRNA has formed it leaves the cell nucleus and attaches to structures known as ribosomes. Using raw material from the cell, the ribosomes produce proteins by following the sequence as instructed by the mRNA. The proteins in turn go about doing their jobs inside or outside the cell based on the original instructions passed down from the electromagnetic coding to DNA to RNA and finally to the ribosomes. This process is known as transcription and provides the means for electromagnetic frequency oscillations, the body’s master conductor, to interact with the cell’s command center to instruct what notes to play, when, how loud, how long, etc., etc. in order to maintain the precision and harmony of the whole body’s vibratory and cellular orchestra.

To reduce our DNA to the point of sub-atomic particles of energy may leave us wondering what is left. Our bodies have now totally disappeared into a sea of energy that is seemingly under the control of a superconscious energy field. From this vantage point we begin to see how we are interconnected with everything else. We also can begin to understand how it is possible for red blood cells to transform into tissue cells and with enough interference from poor food, stress, environmental toxins, and inner conflicts into cancerous cells. It also begins to explain how it is possible for human limb regeneration to occur without the aid of cellular mitosis.5

An interruption or distortion in the range, strength and coherency of the body’s electromagnetic energy system leads to a breakdown in the body’s self-healing mechanisms. Our thoughts and emotions are also frequency patterns and have a direct relationship on the integrity of our energy field. A disruption in our consciousness can create an area of stagnation or incoherence in our bodies that can derail DNA transcription, suppress T-cell and NK-cell activity, and other immune system functions and lead to chronic and degenerative illnesses, depression and other psychosis.

Dr. Ralph Alan Dale, the director of the Acupuncture Education Center in North Miami Beach, Florida, after spending the last two decades tracking down clinical and research data from China, Japan, and Germany, has accumulated evidence of eighteen different microacupuncture holograms in the body, including one in the hands, feet, arms, neck, tongue, and even the gums. Dale feels that these microsystems are “holographic reiterations of the gross anatomy,” and believes there are still other such systems waiting to be discovered. In a notion reminiscent of Bohm’s assertion that every electron in some way contains the cosmos, Dale hypothesizes that every finger, and even every cell, may contain its own acupuncture microsystem.6,7

It is this holographic characteristic of the body’s energy field that provides physical, mental, emotional and spiritual feedback into areas of incoherence.

It has been documented that DNA repair can be activated using a frequency of 528hz. At this precise frequency the clustered water molecules that surround and support the DNA structure form a perfect six-sided hexagon.9,10 This demonstrates how important it is to our health and vitality to support and maintain our energetic coherence on all levels of our lives. Even the slightest deviation in resonance on the cellular level can cause the frequency that supports the beautiful and magical six-sided hexagon to become something less coherent.
